About me

Hey there! Journalism, politics, culture, food, people and social justice fuel my passion for writing and storytelling. I am a freelance journalist in Chicago and the editor-in-chief of the hyperlocal news site LoganSquarist, dedicated to the Logan Square. I am also a digital content producer at WBBM Newsradio (Entercom). I write for Windy City Times, Block Club Chicago, the Chicago Defender and have been published in the Chicago Reader, Psymposia, Sojourners, Univision Chicago, Streetsblog Chicago, Curbed and more. Check out my articles to see my work.

I have experience in reporting hard news and arts and culture themes, business writing, magazine writing, interviewing, audio stories, audio production, playwriting and web design. I have written web content for over three years and have expertise in digital content, SEO, social media strategies, editing, content curation and creation, aggregation and firsthand reporting.

I love writing about music, culture, arts, food, travel, fancy bathrooms, architecture, affordable housing, social justice, activism, dogs... the list keeps going. I also am a strong editor, copyeditor and content writer. Follow me on Twitter to see my newest articles, important news worth sharing and who inspires me!

“Journalism can never be silent: That is its greatest virtue and its greatest fault. It must speak, and speak immediately, while the echoes of wonder, the claims of triumph and the signs of horror are still in the air.”
